The surface of the Sorbact® surgical dressing pad is made of hydrophobically treated acetate silk. The absorbent layer is made of viscose propylene fiber. The top polyurethane film contains a hypoallergenic polyacrylate adhesive surface. The dressing does not contain any drugs, natural rubber, resin or resin derivatives.
Indications
Prevention or treatment of infection in surgical wounds. Also suitable for the treatment of all types of superficial, low-exuding wounds, e.g. trauma wounds, blisters and skin breaks. As a second dressing for the treatment of deep exuding wounds. Also suitable for protection of infection ports of cannulas, spikes and drains.
Behavior at the wound
Hydrophobic microbes, pus and rejected dead tissue bind to the Sorbact® surface and are removed from the wound during dressing change. The wound pad absorbs wound exudate. The spray-resistant polyurethane membrane prevents water and bacteria from entering the wound but is permeable to water vapor and gases. Sorbact® surgical dressing is disposable.
