Choosing the right size

Remove the old rubber and measure the outer diameter of the cane or crutch tube. Choose a replacement rubber with an inner diameter that matches the measurement.

A rubber that is too large may come off during use. A rubber that is too small should not be forced into place. Also check that the shape and size of the base of the rubber are suitable for the assistive device in use.

When should the spare tire be replaced?

Replace the rubber if the pattern on the sole is worn, cracks appear in the rubber, the material has hardened, or the metal tube of the stick starts to push through the rubber.
